Sultan of Sokoto Calls for Love, Peace, and Charity

Eid-el-Fitr has officially been declared today, March 30, 2025, by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, following the sighting of the Shawwal moon. In his announcement, the Sultan congratulated Muslims across the nation for successfully completing the month of Ramadan and emphasized the importance of carrying forward the core values of the holy month—love, peace, and charity.

The Sultan urged Muslims to continue practicing the virtues of Ramadan in their daily lives, reminding the faithful that acts of kindness and unity have the power to transform communities. His message highlighted the need for fostering peace and extending generosity, particularly to those in need. As part of the Eid tradition, many will fulfill the act of zakat al-fitr, ensuring that even the less privileged have the means to celebrate this joyous occasion.

In his address, the Sultan also called for greater harmony, urging communities to embrace diversity and work together towards common goals. His words resonate deeply in a time when collective effort and compassion are critical to national development and unity.

As Muslims gather with family and friends to mark this special day, the Sultan’s message serves as a reminder that Eid is not just a celebration, it is an opportunity to reaffirm our shared humanity and commit to building a more peaceful, loving, and charitable society.

Eid Mubarak to all who celebrate! May this day bring blessings of joy, harmony, and togetherness. 🌙✨
